2 Child Care Institutions: Bosco Illam and Saranalayam

Since 1998, the organization provides residential care and protection to the children in need of care and protection. Each year, around 100 children benefit from the residential care program, which offers integrated care and support to those at risk from the age group of 6 to 18 years. Boys Home is called Bosco Illam which is located in MKB Nagar and Girls’ Home is called Saranalayam which is located in Madhavaram. The children's homes provide food, shelter,education, medical and emotional support to the children. Further, they are involved in recreations like sports, yoga, dance, music, gardening and so on to mprove their skills. The after-care supports vulnerable children who are above the age of 18 years who have completed their schooling from the 2 CCIs. Here, the individuals who are orphaned, semi orphaned and economically weaker get financial support to complete their higher education like graduation in arts, science, paramedics and diploma courses.

Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS)

Since 2000, we are providing short time residential care (upto 3 months) to those who are in need of care and protection during the vulnerable situations through the reference and approval of CWC and DCPU.

Apart from this, 3 ICPS outreach centres in Chennai (Otteri, Annai Sathya Nagar and Bojaraja Nagar) which has high prevalence of child related issues such as child marriage, school drop outs, drug abuses and so on. were adopted to prevent the crimes and equipping the children through after school coaching, awareness on child rights, life skills, social and moral values.

DBAI-HCLFoundation - Police Boys and Girls Clubs

Since 2017, DBAI is active in 20 slums/resettlements of Chennai, partnering with the HCL Foundation and Greater Chennai Police to support education, scouts, sports, and environmental initiatives for Police Boys and Girls. Through the initiative, it provides after school coaching, career guidance, coaching for sports aspirants, scouts and guides movement, creating responsibility towards environment and so on.

Community Intervention Program

DBAI intervenes in slum communities of Chennai since 2022, exclusively to improve the education, employment and health of children, youth and women. It provides after school coaching through 5 centres and vocational training for women through 5 centres, covering 8 slum communities. The program concentrates on activities like referring youths to higher education and job placements, conducting medical camps, providing free education support to children, addressing the issues of child rights violations within the community and empowering women with financial freedom.
