ABOUT DON BOSCO ANBU ILLAM
Don Bosco Anbu Illam Chennai is a Child Rights Organization Started by the Salesians of Don Bosco in 1985 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, South India. It’s a globally well-networked organization which serves the young at risk. It Offers Residential and Family based care for street, working and vulnerable children in the slums and pavements in and around Chennai and for those runaway children who reach Chennai from other parts of the Country. It is a “Non-Profit Governmental Organization” Registered under Tamil Nadu Societies Registration act 27 of 1975 S. No. 34/1986.
We have altogether 2 shelter homes for the children 1 for boys and 1 for girls which are registered under Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection) Act 2015. Around 100 children are given Care and Protection in our children’s homes. We have intervention in 31 slum communities and reaching out to 3000 children every year.
