Megna is a 19 years old girl currently studying 2nd year UG, whose life had many twists and turns from the very early stage of life. She grew up with a loving family consisting of a father, a mother and an Elder sister. But their life suddenly slipped away when their mother died in 2010 and within a gap of 3 years, her father also passed away with the HIV infection. With the support of their grandmother, they both were sent to school for two years but could not continue, as she was growing older and sick. So her grandmother found them a shelter home to continue their education and to be at a safer place.

Deepika, is an 8th Std Student from Kannagi Nagar Police Boys and Girls Club, doing her academic studies at GHSS Okkiyam Thuraipakkam. Growing up in a household where her Mother works as House Keeper and Father works for daily wages, her childhood was defined by economic struggles. She has a brother who's doing his 10th std. However, amidst these challenges, she discovered her love for football, which became her source of joy and purpose. She has joined in the DBAI-HCLF Kannagi Nagar Police Boys and Girls Club in the year 2020 when she was in 6th Std. From then, she has been receiving all kinds of support from DON BOSCO ANBU ILLAM along with HCLFOUNDATION regarding her Sports journey. Her regular coaching plays a pivotal role in her achievements. Her journey embodies the indomitable spirit of resilience and determination against all odds.

Harshini is a 15-year-old girl from a small town in Northern Tamil Nadu. She is known for her discipline, obedience and dedication to education. Tragically, she lost her father to HIV when she was a child. Since then, her mother has struggled to care for Harshini and her elder brother, relying on a meagre income from selling, flowers on the streets. Unable to meet their needs or provide safety, Harshini's dreams were stifled by her family's circumstances. Seeking basic care and safety, she came to Don Bosco Anbu lllam through the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and has been under our care for the past five years. Harshini recently took her 10th board exam, scoring an impressive 490 out of 500 marks and securing first place at her school. She is determined to become a doctor to serve destitute individuals who are neglected and lack support.

Shyam Sunder is an 18-year-old boy who has been under our care for the past four years. His childhood was marked by his parents' unhappy marriage, which led to frequent fights. One day, Shyam Sunder’s father abandoned him and his mother. Overwhelmed by trauma, his mother struggled to cope with life’s challenges and eventually suffered from mental illness. With no one to care for them, they were forced to beg on the streets until they were rescued four years ago. Enrolled in school with our support, Shyam Sunder continued his education despite experiencing cruelty at a young age. In the recent SSLC exam, he scored 470 out of 500 marks and secured first place in his school. He is currently pursuing higher secondary education and aspires to become an environmentalist to protect Mother Earth.

Janani KM. is a diligent student from the Arumbakkam Police Boys and Girls Club. Despite facing financial constraints, she excelled in her studies, achieving a centum in Accounts and Commerce subjects. In her 12th standard board exams, Janani showcased her academic brilliance by securing an impressive 589 out of 600 marks, reflecting a remarkable 98%. Her stellar performance highlighted her dedication and hard work as well as her innate talent. With this exceptional academic record, Janani's dream of pursuing higher education in B.Com General at one of the prestigious college became attainable. The Arumbakkam Police Boys and Girls Club Alumni Federation paid her college fees, enabling Janani to embark on her academic journey without financial burdens.

Gayathri R., a student at the Arumbakkam Police Boys and Girls Club, attends Government Model Higher Secondary School. In her 10th standard examinations, Gayathri displayed exceptional academic prowess by scoring an impressive 488 out of 500 marks, achieving a remarkable 98%. Despite financial limitations, she aspires to pursue Computer Science with Mathematics in the 11th standard. Through her resilience and commitment to excellence, Gayathri exemplifies that with determination, hard work and support, any obstacle can be overcome on the path to success. Her story serves as a cornerstone for highlighting the potential for achievement irrespective of one's background or circumstances.

S. Vedharaj grew up in Arumbakkam, Chennai, facing financial challenges that nearly derailed his educational journey. He attended K8 Arumbakkam Police Girls and Boys Club until the 9th standard, where he received support for school fees and supplies. Due to financial constraints, his family relocated to Jayankondam; however, the Boys Club continued to play a pivotal role by assisting him in pursuing a B.Sc. in Mathematics at one of the famous institutions. Throughout college, Vedharaj lived at the Boys Club, considering it his home. Initially starting as a science student, Vedharaj, discovered his passion for chartered accountancy during his mathematics studies.
